Special Teaching Staff in University of West Attica
Dimitra Balaska is a holder of 3 undergraduate degrees. Initially at the Higher Education Institute of Athens in the Department of Health Visitors, then with successful examinations she was admitted to the Higher Education Institute of Crete in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and finally she studied at the Hellenic Open University of Patras in the Department of Business and Organization Administration. She holds 2 postgraduate degrees, one in Health Unit Management from the Open University of Cyprus and the other in Organization & Management of Public Organizations and Business from the University of Economics and Business.
Her thesis titled “Evaluation of health-related quality of life and the cost of minimally invasive spine surgery” was carried out at the Department of Economics of the University of Piraeus. Finally, she has been trained in various other subjects related to health such as family planning, primary health care, health education, etc.
She has worked in various fields such as Health Visitor in a Centre for the Protection of Mother and Child, Administrative Officer in a P.P.Y. personnel office, Administrative Officer in the 1st Ministry of Health who also served as Head of Human Resources, Administrative Officer in the payroll department and in public relations at the University of West Attica. Today she is an E.D.I.P. in the field of Social Policy of the Department of Business Administration of the University of West Attica. She is a member of the research laboratory of Economics, Management, Health Policies and Social Protection. She has published articles in scientific journals and has made announcements in Greek and international conferences.
