Research Associate in University of West Attica
Ioannis Pateras is a graduate of the Economics Department of the School of Law, Economics and Political Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He is also a doctor of the Democritus University of Thrace, with the title of his doctoral thesis “Cost-effectiveness assessment of endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm”.
He has been teaching for eleven years at the former ATEI of Athens and now the University of West Attica, in the undergraduate study program of the Department of Business Administration, Department of Health and Welfare Management, Sector of Social Policy.
He also teaches for seven years in the Master’s Program of the University of Western Attica, Sector of Social Protection, School of Administrative Economics and Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration, Department of Health and Welfare Units, entitled: “ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE SERVICES” and for the Academic years 2020 – 2021, 2021 – 2022 and 2022 – 2023 he teaches and supervises theses in the Master’s Program of the Hellenic Open University “Management of Health Units”, thematic unit “Economic and Financial Management of Health Services, as Collaborating Teaching Staff.
He has taught Health Economics and Health Systems in the Bi-Institutional Master’s Program entitled: “RESEARCH IN FEMALE REPRODUCTION”, MSc “Research in Female Reproduction” for the academic year 2018 – 2019, which is organized by the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with the Midwifery Department of the University of West Attica.
Finally, he has taught during the course “Management of Health Units”, of the Master’s Program of the University of Western Attica, entitled: “Modern Applications in Medical Imaging”, for the academic years 2021-2022, 2022-2023.
He has research experience, as he has participated in various research projects and in the publication of articles in both International and Greek peer-reviewed Scientific Journals, Chapters in Collective Volumes and peer-reviewed Conferences.
He also has extensive experience in the field of Health, having served for nine years as Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors at Sterifan Hellas A.E., with the scope of work in the management of infectious hospital waste and the marketing of hospital equipment.
He has also served for three years as a legal representative and general manager at the shipping company Sailwell S.A.
Finally, he has served for five years as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, in the company EXERGEIA ATEBE, whose purpose was the provision of economic and technical advice, participation in other commercial enterprises and the construction of public projects.
