Expert in National and International Organisations
Ms. Fotini Marini is an international expert in social security law and policy, acting currently as the Head of the Social Welfare and Inclusion Hub in the Social Administration Research Lab (https://sarl.uniwa.gr) at the University of West Attica in Athens (www.uniwa.gr). She has received a BA Diploma in Law from the Athens University, a Master Degree in Social Law from the University Strasbourg III and a PhD Degree in Social Care Law from the University of Thessaloniki. She has undertaken research and teaching assignments at the University of West Attica, the Nicosia University, the Athens University of Applied Sciences, the Athens National School of Public Administration and the Hellenic National Centre for Social Research in areas relating to EU and comparative employment, health, social security, social welfare and inclusion policies.
She practices law since 1998 (member of the Athens Bar Association) and, since 2002, she has been providing research and consultancy services both to central administration services and local authorities in the context of high level policy and research projects in Greece, Cyprus and the Balkan region (sectors: employment, social security, social welfare, inclusion, asylum/migration, social entrepreneurship and third sector, local administration and social innovation).
Ms. Marini has several years of experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of EU projects (European Structural and Investment Funds, European Migration and Asylum) related to her fields of expertise. She is also familiar with the institutional and operational context of EEA & Norway Grants, as she has cooperated with the EEA & Norway Grants Financial Mechanism Office, during the period 2014-2017, as Monitoring Agent for EEA Grant Programs implemented in Greece in sectors related to social development (social research, NGO Fund, asylum / migration management system, social inclusion).
She is author and co-author of eight books and has published in international edited books and journals.
