Charalampos Platis holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, from the EPEAEK Program, in the knowledge field of: “Organization and Management of Health Services”. Also, holds a master’s degree in “Health Informatics” from the inter-university Cooperation Erasmus European program. Finally, he is a graduate of the Department of Political Sciences and Public Administration, School of Law, Economics and Political Sciences, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
In recent years he has been serving as CEO at the Center for Documentation and Costing of Hospital Services (Hellenic DRG Institute). He has served in several positions in the Public and Private Sector, including as Managerial Governor – Chairman of the Board, of the General Hospital of Syros “Vardakeio and Proio”, as a Special Scientific Staff at the National School of Public Administration and Local Government (ESDDA), as a Specialized Permanent Staff at the Ministry of Finance and as an Administrative Officer at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center (OCC).
He teaches as a member of the Collaborating Educational Staff (CEP) at the Open University (EAP), collaborates as an External Partner with the University of Western Attica (PADA), while in recent years he has been recommended as a Scientific Partner in many University Departments (University of Peloponnese, International University of Greece, etc.) .a.) both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
He has extensive experience in informal postgraduate and professional education.
His authorship includes chapters in books, publications in scientific journals and proceedings of scientific conferences, while he is a Reviewer and a member of Scientific Committees in scientific journals.
He has been head and member of Project Management Teams in various areas of operation of the Public – mainly – Sector, while he has experience in scheduling, submitting proposals and implementing of research and other national and European development programs.
His research interests concern the scientific fields of the various forms of Health Policy, the Organization of Health Services, the Financing of Health Organizations and Units and special issues of Human Resource Management in Health Services.
