Markos Sarris is a former Professor at the University of West Attica in the sector of Social Policy, Department of Business Administration, School of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. Additionally, he is the former Director of the Research Laboratory “Economics, Management, Health Policy and Social Protection” as well as Scientific Associate of the Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Academy of Athens.
He is a sociologist and holds a Ph.D. in Health Sociology and Quality of Life. He has a long professional and scientific experience in the management of health and welfare services. He has been an expert in the V Directorate of the EU and the Ministry of Health and Welfare in matters of development, training, lifelong learning and assessment of human resources and continuous improvement of health and social care services’ quality.
During his academic career, he has undertaken significant research projects with national and international bodies. During the last 20 years he has been active in the field of authored (books, articles, publications in scientific journals, conference proceedings, collective volumes, research studies, training guides, education and lifelong learning-adult education, teacher training, etc.), which have been recorded and recognized by the Greek and international scientific community.
